Snow is in the forecast for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley on Friday.
Global B.C. meteorologist Mark Madryga says you can thank the most recent round of chilly air in our midst.
“Well, enough cold air will be left around here overnight and Friday morning through Metro Vancouver to have the precipitation move in in the form of snow at first. We’ll go up to five centimetres for now in Metro Vancouver, but it could be higher amounts in a few areas; at higher elevations, and especially in the Fraser Valley. It’ll likely become mixed with rain by Friday afternoon in Metro Vancouver, but continuous snow or possibly freezing rain through the day Friday in the Fraser Valley.”
As for what time the first bit of snow should fall, Madryga says we can expect it during the morning commute.
“Probably first thing for the commute around 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM; maybe 8:00 AM, we’ll have snow kick in.”
It would be the first snowfall in the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas since early January.
