A Burnaby RCMP officer will not be facing any charges following an investigation from B.C.’s civilian police watchdog on a shooting in May of 2015.
A report released today by the Independent Investiations Office says the incident happened after police responded to calls of an unwanted man at a residence who allegedly had a knife.
According the report the suspect said he was “pretty much already to die” when he faced police, a was “ready for suicide by cop.”
The officer under investigation fired her pistol at the suspect resulting in non-life threatening injuries.
The report says the officer hasn’t committed any offences and the firing of her weapon wasn’t unreasonable.
