This morning’s homicide in Richmond has been followed up with an arrest.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team’s Cpl. Meghan Foster says one man is now in custody, and IHIT has taken over the case from police.
“When police attended the area, a male was located inside a business and appeared to have succumb to injuries consistent with homicide. The male suspect remains in custody and IHIT is liaising with crown council to determine if the male will face any homicide related charges.”
Foster says the investigation’s in its early stages, but there’s one thing that seems to be clear to investigators.
“It appears that the homicide occurred between parties known to each other, and this was not a random act of violence.”
The body was found near Viking Road and Cambie Way, in an industrial area, just before 6:30 a.m.
No details about the man in custody are being released at this time, as he is not currently facing any charges.
