A convicted drug smuggler caught in controversy with Daniel Sedin after the star Canuck went for a helicopter ride has written a post about the trip in light of a media story.
In a Facebook post Edward “Skeeter” Russell says he feels bad for anyone that may have been adversely affected by his past actions.
He says he acknowledges his actions and takes responsibility for his poor decisions and he’s now taken steps to be a positive member of the community.
Russell also says his goal is to be a positive role model for family and friends.
This comes in the wake of a Vancouver Sun report that says Daniel Sedin unknowingly took a helicopter ride with the convicted drug smuggler.
The Vancouver Canucks say Sedin had no knowledge of who Russell is, and had he known of Russell’s criminal history, he never would have flown with him.
The Vancouver Sun’s Kim Bolan reports that anti-gang police warned the Canucks about the history of Russell, after Postmedia News obtained a photo of Russell and Sedin that the convicted smuggler posted on social media last week.
