Police are investigating after an Abbotsford man was shot at while leaving his house early yesterday morning.
Constable Ian MacDonald says the man was leaving his home on Flagman Place near Station Road at 5:30 am when he heard a car start nearby.
“And then suddenly he is descended upon by a man dressed in dark clothing who immediately pulls out a gun and starts shooting at him. Fortunately all the shots, we think about half a dozen, missed the intended victim. And the suspect fled, ultimately, in that car that was waiting nearby.”

MacDonald says police pulled one of the stray bullets from a neighbour’s house.
Back in 2015, an Abbotsford senior was killed after being struck by a stray bullet in a neighbourhood shooting.
MacDonald says the intended victim has no serious police record, and the shooting doesn’t look linked to the Townline Hill conflict, but the attack appears targeted.
He says police are now canvassing the neighbourhood, and asking if anyone saw anything suspicious in the days and weeks leading up to the shooting.
