Days after a downtown Victoria church put a fence up to keep drug dealers out, someone took a can of red spray-paint to it.
A volunteer with the Central Baptist Church, who was surveying the damage, says they don’t think anyone living nearby or living on the street is responsible.
Witnesses saw a car drive up when a couple of young women got out, sprayed the fence, and then drove off again, he says.
Workers have already painted over the letters WWJD – an acronym for ‘what would Jesus do’.
Pastor Barton Priebe said last week they put the fence along an area of the building where drug dealers and users gathered, making church-goers feel unsafe.
