Surrey fire crews were busy Christmas evening battling a blaze.
“Upon arrival, the crews found a fully involved house fire.”
Acting Chief Kevin Beenham says the house at 134A Street and King George was aleady under investigation because it was the scene of a fire two nights ago.
Beenham says it was a vacant house.
While what sparked the blaze is still being investigated, he says at this time of year it’s not unusual.
“In this cold water, there is chances that people, squatters, try to get in to keep warm and set fires in the wrong places that may cause house fires. So that’s one possibility.”
Beenham says nobody was in the house while firefighters battled the stubborn blaze.
