We all know Boxing Day is the busiest shopping day of the year, but if you’re heading to Metrotown – beware.
TransLink Spokesperson Chris Bryan says that due to upgrades at the station it will be busier than usual.
Bryan says they’re prepared though, as alternative routes for passengers will be provided.
“We already have a shuttle running between Royal Oak station and Patterson station and Metrotown. The Patterson one is for people who are in wheel chairs who have mobility issues. We also have the shuttle at Royal Oak which people can use if they have strollers.”
Safety is key with so many people coming through, he says.
Bryan asks that passengers remain patient while upgrades are being completed.
“Short term pain for long term gain”
“This year in particular is going to be an extraodinary year for people getting to and from the station because we are right in the midst of our major upgrade project to Metrotown station.”
Bryan says extra staff will be on site to help.
