It has been just over a year since Canada welcomed its first wave of Syrian refugees.
For most, this is their first Christmas.
Majd Agha, is a refugee who came to Canada last year and now works as an outreach worker.
Agha says for most refugees, their families are still back home.
To celebrate the holiday, he’s hosting a dinner.
“So we’re like twenty people in total and we’re going to be having dinner at my place for the Christmas and we’re going to all go to Victoria to spend two days there.”
Agha says this dinner is a way to spend time together and enjoy the holidays.
