The drug problem around a downtown Victoria church is so relentless they are putting up a four-foot fence to try to clean things up.
Senior Pastor Barton Priebe says an overhang along the side of the Central Baptist Church has become a refuge for the wrong reasons.
“It’s drug dealers and drug use …that’s the concern”
Preibe says they want everyone using their services – from children to seniors – to feel safe coming and going.
“We spend 10’s of thousands of dollars on security and building and we committed to being part of the city….despite the challenges.”
He says they hope the fence will stop dealers hanging out while welcoming the community in.
