Have you noticed icy – uncleared – sidewalks as you’re making your way around Vancouver? If you said yes – you’re not alone.
The snowstorm has come and gone, and while the big melt is underway, many residential and commercial properties still haven’t cleared their sidewalks.
The City of Vancouver requires the action by 10 a.m. after a snowfall but admits it only conducts enforcement if someone complains.
That said, plenty of people have complained.
The city says as of last night it inspected nearly 3,100 properties and issued more than 1,200 first warnings, and 43 second warnings.
Anyone who wants to volunteer to help clear walks for those in need can call 311 and you can dial the same number to make a complaint.
