Burnaby Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a blaze at Brentwood Mall Monday night.
Assistant Chief Bryan Kirk says the fire started around 7:45 at a construction site in the underground parkade, at a tool lock-up on P4, where the equipment is stored.
Kirk says it took 36 of his guys, 10 trucks and 4.5 hours to put the fire out.
He says it wasn’t the size of the fire that was difficult to battle, but access to the source with lighting and venting challenges.
Kirk says the investigation is still in the early stages and could not confirm what sparked the fire, but says it may have possibly been a propane heater.
Kirk says nobody was injured.
