While the snowy conditions cause havoc on the roads, it’s a gift to the Lower Mainland’s ski hills.
The recent dump of snow and cool temperatures to allow for snow-making means Grouse Mountain will open its most prominent run on Tuesday called “The Cut.”
“At Grouse Mountain we were thrilled with all the snow it was great to see it coming down, we had 31 centimetres of snow in the last 24 hours, and that brings up to over 80 centimetres of snow in the last seven days,” says spokesperson Julia Grant.
Seymour saw 57 centimetres of snowfall in the past 24 hours and Cypress recorded 47.
Cypress also opens downhill night skiing tomorrow.
