Another large seizure of dogs from the BC SPCA, this time in Squamish.
“We ended up removing 29 dogs, that’s 18 adults and 11 puppies that met the definition of distress.”
Chief prevention and enforcement officer Marcie Moriarty says the breeds of dogs include Old English sheepdogs, bearded collies, and a Tibetan terrier.
Moriarty says the dogs and puppies were in very bad shape.
“Some of the dogs being severely matted, severe dental disease, ear infections, grossly overgrown nails and skin infections, just to name a few.”
At least one of the dogs may be pregnant.
Moriarty says animal cruelty charges will be considered.
