Vancouver’s Trump Tower is sporting a new name on Google Maps: it’s been changed to ‘Dump Tower.’
During this year’s U.S. election, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson urged developers to change the name of Donald Trump’s new tower, and now it looks like he may have gotten his wish.
It’s unknown who’s responsible for changing the name of the downtown skyscraper, which has been the target of protests in the past.
And it’s not just Vancouver that’s seen the change.
Trump’s Fifth Ave. HQ in New York also appeared as Dump Tower for a short period of time before it was changed back.
A Google spokesperson said in a statement “Some inappropriate names were surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologize for any offense this may have caused. Our teams immediately took action and have fixed the issue.”
President elect Trump has yet to comment on the change.
