Close to 200 baby ducks are looking for a new home after being found on the side of the road in Aldergrove.
Sarah Bolton told Global News that she saw what looked like two moving garbage bags along the shoulder of the road when she was headed to work Nov. 11, but when she took a closer look, she realized it was two crates filled with 194 baby ducks.
It’s unclear how the ducks got there; whether they were purposely abandoned, or had fallen off a truck. The owner has not come forward to claim them.
She immediately reached out to the BC SPCA, and now the organization is working to place the ducklings in new homes.
Julie Delisle, an Aldergrove farmer, is fostering the ducks temporarily.
She estimates the ducklings are approximately two weeks old.
Anyone looking to adopt the ducklings is asked to call the BC SPCA.
