It was a murder that shocked Cloverdale, and now more than a year later, the accused has pleaded guilty.
22-year-old Khouri Lamar Green of Surrey has pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.
He’s set to be sentenced early in the new year.
Green was in court to fix a date for his next appearance when he made the surprise guilty plea.
42-year-old Colin Hill, a well-liked Surrey realtor, interrupted a break-in at his Cloverdale home near 165th and 64th last September.
In a struggle at his front door, Hill was shot and died at the scene.
His wife and children were upstairs at the time.
Two hours later, Green was captured in Burnaby after allegedly trying to break into a home in that community.
