A B.C. realtor who arranged to have someone else write his real estate licensing exam at UBC’s Sauder School of Business has been suspended by the Real Estate Council of B.C.
In a consent order, Ryan Gurinder Rana admits he asked friend and B.C. broker Indeep Singh Aulak, to write the exam for him last December.
The Real Estate Council of B.C. has revoked both their licenses as of this past September.
Rana has been asked to pay a disciplinary penalty of $7,500 to the council and enforcement expenses worth $1,500 dollars.
At the time of the exam, B.C.’s registrar of mortgage brokers says Aulak even shaved his beard and took off his turban to appear more like Rana and swore a false affidavit.
