Leonard Cohen’s manager has released a statement shedding light on the iconic Canadian singer-songwriter’s death.
According to Robert Kory, Cohen passed away in his sleep after falling in the middle of the night on Monday, November 7.
“The death was sudden, unexpected, and peaceful,” writes Kory, in the first public disclosure of details around the artist’s death.
“He is survived by his children Adam and Lorca, and his three grandchildren Cassius (Adam’s son), and Viva and Lyon (Lorca’s daughter and son),” he wrote.
Cohen was buried in a Montreal cemetery with a small private service last Thursday, hours before the news of his passing was made public.
The 82-year-old had released his most recent album, You Want It Darker, just several weeks prior on October 21.
