The province has invested $6 million for a new housing project in Chilliwack.
35 new units of affordable housing will be made available at 46123 and 46135 Princess Avenue.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in Spring 2017.
MLA for Chilliwack, John Martin, says he’s “glad to see the government addressing this important issue.”
This initiative is part of the $500 million housing announcement made earlier this year.
Speaking in Burnaby back in September, Premier Christy Clark said a total of 2,900 rental units will be created in partnership with non-profit groups, local governments, community agencies and the private sector.
More to come.
