Another anti-Trump rally is being organized for Saturday in Vancouver, this time at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Organizer Carling Jackson, who is a Canadian art teacher living in Vancouver, says she originally was planning to hold it outside the Trump Tower, but received hate mail from Trump supporters, prompting her to change the location.
“I realized that the association with the Trump Tower and with Trump was still making it all about Trump and I was getting hateful messages from Trump supporters and more militant and violent people.”
She says this rally is more about promoting peace, equality and inclusion.
“I lived in the states actually for six years. I lived in Louisiana. I was a scholarship athlete, played soccer. It is frightening. It is frightening because he has literally opened up the flood gate from hate, for violence, for targeting minorities of any kind, and it is frightening, it chills me to my very bone.”
She expects hundreds of people to attend.
Yesterday roughly 200 people took to the streets of downtown Vancouver, disrupting traffic, in protest of the election of Donald Trump as next U.S. President.
