The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has revealed more about the disturbing discovery of an apparent dismembered body in Langley today.
Corporal Meghan Foster says the man was the victim of a targeted killing linked to gang activity.
“While there are currently no linkages between this homicide and other reported incidents of violence, the nature of this homicide causes us great concern for people involved with or leading a life-style associated to gang activity or organized crime.”
She says they can’t confirm if this is related to the murder of senior Hells’ Angel Bob Green in Langley earlier this month.
“We are actively consulting with partners and information sharing is taken place to ensure that if there are consistencies they will be identified and the appropriate response will be given.”
Foster says it’s believed he was not killed at the location where he was discovered on Robertson crescent, which remains closed in the meantime.
But residents in the area say the discovery has them on edge.
“I just think it’s a little unnerving, there seems to be a lot going on around here lately and, I don’t know, it’s just too close to home.”
Footage from the Global News traffic helicopter appeared to show a dismembered body along the side of a road in North Langley, police closed Robertson between 240th and 244th street.
