It was a valiant comeback effort, but the Vancouver Canucks fell 4-3 to the Los Angeles Kings after a shoot-out Saturday night.
Two goals from Brayden McNabb and Tanner Pearson led the Kings into the second period with a 2-0 lead, with Dustin Brown ticking a third point for a 3-0 lead just 30 seconds in to the period.
Granlund and Sedin narrowed the lead to 3-2 heading into the third, with Alex Edler ringing in a late third period goal to carry the team into overtime.
With no goals in sight in OT, Tanner Pearson ultimately scored the only goal in the shoot-0ut, leading the Kings to their win.
The Canucks stay in California for the weekend, to play the Anaheim Ducks Sunday night at 5.
