A United Nations gang associate has pleaded guilty in a fatal hit and run that caused the death of a 25-year-old woman near BCIT last spring.
25-year-old Emily Sheane was driving home from her job at Joe Fortes restaurant in Vancouver when she was T-boned by a Range Rover that ran a red light at a Burnaby intersection in March before fleeing the scene.
The young woman was killed instantly.
25-year-old Ibrahim Ali was arrested days later at a motel near Creston, after an alert motel operator called police when he sensed something suspicious.

He’s now entered guilty pleas to dangerous driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm.
Ali is a known UN gang-associate with a lengthy criminal record dating back to 2008.
Sentencing submissions will be made on November 24th.
$30,000 have been raised through a Go-Fund-Me page in support of the victim’s family.
