The city of Surrey’s been found partly to blame for a crash that injured a driver.
After 22 days of trial in BC Supreme Court, the City of Surrey’s been found partly negligent in failing to properly maintain roads during winter conditions.
A jury has found the plaintiff Michele Rhodes 75 per cent to blame and the city 25 per cent responsible.
It was December 2009 Rhodes was driving to work westbound on 80th Avenue approaching 192nd Street.
She hit the brakes and slid into a gas station and convenience store.
The jury’s findings resulted in an award of $223,000.
