As the U.S. hurtles towards one of the wildest electoral finishes in modern history British Columbians are getting in on the action.
The B.C. Lottery Corporation is doing big business in election bets.
Doug Cheng with the BCLC says since it’s kickoff this year, betting on the U.S. election become its most popular novelty wager category – beating out even the Oscars.

And with the election getting wilder by the day, it’s not slowing down.
“We have 2,400 plus wagers placed, and in terms of the amount of money wagered, we have approximately $258,000. Both of these metrics actually have doubled since July.”
Cheng says bettors are favouring Clinton both in volume and size of bets.
And he says the odds back her too – currently four-to-25 – versus 47-to-10 for trump.
