Mounties in Richmond are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 18-year-old woman on October 7.
Police say the woman was walking northbound on Ash Street towards General Currie Road around 7:30 p.m. when she was allegedly approached from behind by a man.
Police say she was pushed to the ground and then forcibly sexually assaulted.
She managed to fight off her attacker and escape.
The suspect is described as a male, 5′ 10 to 5’11” tall. He was last seen wearing dark pants, dark dress shoes, and a dark puffy jacket.
In a statement to CKNW, Corporal Dennis Hwang says they have a team of seasoned investigators working on the case.
“We are still active in the area, conducting comprehensive neighbourhood canvassing and analyzing video surveillance footage”
Police are asking for witnesses to come forward.
