Burnaby RCMP are searching a home on Manor Street near Royal Oak, suspected to be a drug lab after a fire last night.
Deputy Fire Chief Dave Samson with the Burnaby Fire Department says crews were called to the home just after 9 pm.
After the smoke cleared, crews discovered equipment and products pointing to clandestine drug operations.
“The reports that I received is that it was cooking equipment and massive amounts of ephedrine.”
Mounties believe people living in the home were running an ephedrine extraction lab.
Three people were arrested but have since been released.
No charges have been laid.
No one was injured as a result of the fire, and police say there is no risk to the public.
