A former high profile B.C. RCMP Spokesperson says she’s beaming the RCMP has made an apology.
Catherine Galliford told CKNW’s Jon McComb that for many women who have experienced harassment in the force – all they ever wanted was an apology and acknowledgement it happened.
“A lot of them are still going to need some help moving forward. There are so many women who are struggling now with depression or Post Traumatic Stress disorder.”
She says attention should be brought to the bullies.
“Let’s start turning around and pointing the finger at the accuser and why don’t we start publicly shaming them and lay criminally charges if it’s fitting.”
Galliford left the force in 2006 and publicly spoke out of sexual harassment and discrimination she experienced.
