One man is in custody after police found a body in Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood.
Sergeant Brian Montague says officers made the discovery on the property of the Davie Street mansion near Nicola Street on Wednesday just before 7 p.m.
Investigators continue to gather evidence and will be working closely with the Coroner to confirm the identity of the victim and determine the exact cause of death.
A 48-year-old man has been taken into custody. He was arrested shortly before midnight last night.
This remains a very active investigation, Montague says here is no concern for public safety and additional details will be provided as the investigation permits.
The historic Roger Gabriola Mansion on Cardero and Davie St. had been taped off since Wednesday night, with police surrounding the area.
The 17,000 sq. ft. mansion is better known as the former site of the Macaroni Grill restaurant. Before that; the home of B.T. Rogers, the founder of Rogers Sugar.
