There’s another case of a parental child abduction on Vancouver Island.
It was a year ago that a Comox Valley mother said goodbye to her four children on a court-sanctioned European vacation with their father and never heard from them again.
Now, a Canada wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of 31-year-old Lauren Ann Etchells and her two-year old-daughter Kaydance from Saanich.
Etchells hasn’t been seen since boarding a plane from Vancouver for London Gatwick back in May with her child and new partner.
Saanich Acting Sergeant Jereme Leslie says the details of their whereabouts need to be narrowed down.
“Right now we believe they are somewhere in Europe, in a country in Europe, we are uncertain where.”
“They had left on a flight on a WestJet flight on May 8 Lauren and Kaydance in the company with her new partner Marco van der Merwe and their newborn son Marcus.”
When Etchells vanished, she was going through court proceedings for custody of Kaydance.
