People may wonder whether Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram has anything to do with the photo-sharing app’s recent success.
Instagram – with half a billion active monthly users and 300 million active daily users – has doubled the number of advertisers they have on the app in six months.
They now have half a million advertisers in 200 countries ranging from established brands to direct to consumer start-ups.
What’s interesting for Instagram is there is no concentration to a region of the world to the good or service that’s being marketed. They cater to literally anyone.
Due to Facebook’s rejected takeover offer of Snapchat, they’ve turned Instagram into a direct competitor with similar attributes like the new Stories feature and their rapid growth has to be intimidating.
