Royal fever is hitting Vancouver ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit.
William and Kate will touch down in B.C. on Saturday, and one downtown hotel is even changing its name before they get into town.
The Loden Hotel will be known as The London Hotel for the duration of the royal visit.
Ashleigh McRian, spokesperson for the hotel, says they want to give their guests the full English experience.
“It means a lot to just have that heritage and having the Royals come here. We’ve had the Queen here before and being able to have Will and Kate here really means a lot to us and they’re bringing their kids as well. So for us, really getting back to our heritage with that British tradition and bringing that into the hotel so that our guests can experience that here in B.C.”
McRian also says that the hotel staff hope to entice the Duke and Duchess to visit.
“We never know, hopefully we’ll inspire them a little bit to come and check out what we’re doing with the London and British elements of their home area, they might want to check out what we’re doing but at this point we can’t confirm that the Royals are visiting with us.”
Guests will be treated to to high tea as well as English biscuits and a London turn-down service for the week-long visit.
The royal couple will carry out over 30 public engagements during their time here.
