Another delay in a year’s long RCMP disciplinary hearing on paid suspension.
The disciplinary hearing for Constable Amit Goyal, formally of the Osoyoos RCMP detachment, has been postponed again until November, thanks to new information that’s come to light.
Goyal is in his fourth year of paid suspension, and this is the fifth time his RCMP conduct hearing has been rescheduled.
Goyal is facing five allegations under the 1988 RCMP regulations, including disgraceful conduct.
The force publicly tied him to the investigation of two vehicles stolen form his care.
Both cars, including an Audi A5, had been torched.
However, many questions have arisen out of this case.
Goyal was once an RCMP whistleblower in a case that saw several senior Mounties blasted by superiors.
