A spokesperson for the West Vancouver Blue Bus employees union says they will be forced to strike if demands aren’t met during mediation.
Bill Tieleman says more than 70 per cent of the 149 union members showed up for the strike vote.
“Every one of them voted in favour of strike action if necessary, which I think should be a message to the West Vancouver district that it’s a very serious situation and that the drivers and mechanics are very united.”
Tieleman says the dispute is less about wages and more about retaining servicemen and mechanics.
