Charges have been approved against Pat Pimm, a current independent Member of the British Columbia’s Legislative Assembly.
Ministry of justice announced Monday that Special Prosecutor Michael Klein, QC, has approved a charge of assault against Pimm.
Klein was appointed as Special Prosecutor on August 16.
The day before Pimm’s Peace River North office announced that due to the allegations brought forward against him, he was stepping away from his role as Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Whole Legislature.
But he remained as MLA and continued sitting on the Legislature as an independent member.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on August 13, 2016 in Dawson Creek, B.C.
