A Vancouverite has been battling bed bugs for over a year and now he’s facing eviction….but he’s not leaving without a fight.
Lance Louie is on a pension and wonders where he’ll live if he’s evicted from his suite at 2256 Brunswick Street in Vancouver.
“Don’t know, number one I don’t really have the funds being on a pension and I don’t have the funds and it takes money to move and also for a damage deposit and of course the rent ’cause rents are pretty high now.”
Despite numerous treatments, the bugs return and now he’s received an eviction notice.

He says the bugs were there when he moved in, but the management company disagrees.
“They are invading one chair like one recliner because we got rid of the bed, the bed was infested with bed bugs, we’re down to one chair but I still feel they are coming through the floorboards behind the chair and you know we live in an older building here.”
The case is going to the Residential Tenancy Branch.
Vancouver’s Bed Bug Registry says it’s received nearly 2,000 reports to date from across the city.
