There’s speculation the BC NDP are turning to a pair of high-profile Vancouver Councillors to be part of their caucus.
NDP leader John Horgan admits he’s reached out to both Raymond Louie and Kerry Jang about running in the provincial election next May.
“I’d like to see both of them find a place in my caucus, but it’s entirely up to them, they’re hard-working Councillors in the City of Vancouver who are doing good work for the people in their region already. I’ve reached out to them and several other candidates across B.C.”
BC NDP appear to be hoping that some politicians at the municipal level will provide a one-two punch, but Horgan says time will tell if they jump into the fold.
“I’ll leave that up to them. They’re both active already in public life and I’ll leave them to make their decisions on their own time.”
Horgan says transgender rights activist Morgane Oger is also in the conversation.
CKNW reached out to Jang a few weeks ago; when asked about joining the BC NDP, Jang said he couldn’t confirm or deny the speculation.
