A couple students are in hot water for setting fire to a school playground, and now one school district is threatening legal action.
The Sea to Sky School District has launched a lawsuit against two teens who set fire to a playground at Garibaldi Highlands Elementary last June.
A notice of civil claim in BC Supreme Court says following an investigation by Squamish RCMP, the two young men plead guilty to setting fire to playground equipment.
But no charges were laid, no compensation to the school district in any form – just a warning.
Now the district is suing the young men and their parents for general damages and costs.
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
