Good news for those who rely on the Blue Bus Service in West Vancouver.
While a 72 hour strike notice has been served, there won’t be disruption to service, if any, until at least mid-September.
Bill Tielman Spokesperson for Amalgamated Transit Union Local 134 says a strike can’t take place until the mediator and district get back to the table.
“We’ve proposed the mediation dates be September 15th, 16th, 21st, and 22nd. We are waiting for confirmation from the mediator and the District of West Vancouver.”
Tielman says a strike isn’t possible until the mediator books out.
Both parties are feuding over working conditions and benefits.
Members have been without a contract since the end of March.
