Owners of more than 100 properties north of West Kelowna threatened by the Bear Creek wildfire will be going home
The Central Okanagan Regional District says as of noon today, no homes will be affected by either an evacuation order, or an evacuation alert.
But it says the owners of 105 properties in the Traders Cove area should be aware that the area is still busy with firefighting efforts along Westside Road, along with visible smoke and flames.
Westside Road is also being reopened to two-way traffic, and the Bear Creek Campground will reopen at 3pm.
The fire broke out Sunday evening, initially forcing the owners of more than 150 properties, along with campers in the Bear Creek Campground to flee.
As of last night, firefighters had the 52 hectare blaze 80% contained.
