A week to the day after he disappeared near Chilliwack, a tearful appeal from the family of a missing 50-year-old hiker to continue the search.
Gordon Sagoo vanished last week after separating from two friends on a trail in the Cheam range.
His daughter Amandeep says she’s not giving up.
“In my heart, I know he’s out there fighting to come back home to me and my grandma. With that being said, I’m not going to ever lose hope or give up searching for him, because I know I will bring him home.”
His niece Manpreet Gill thanked rescuers for their efforts and said the family would not give up the search.
“The search teams have brought in everything from dogs to drones, and have not found a single trace. And we know, we know there’s only one reason for this. We know he’s still out there. Strong, determined, resilient. There really isn’t a powerful enough word to describe my uncle.”
Chilliwack Search and Rescue and the RCMP have been scouring the area for Sagoo, even employing a drone at one point but to no avail.
A pair of online fundraisers have raised more than 25-thousand dollars to help in the hunt.
