With record-breaking temperatures sweeping the province, so too is the amount of electricity.
In a release, BC Hydro say Thursday marked the most amount of power used this summer 7,320 megawatts in an hour.
They expect tonight’s numbers to be even higher, possibly breaking a record set two years ago.
The Crown Corporation says they usually see a spike in power use in the summer as people turn on fans and air conditioners.
The highest numbers ever recorded in B.C. were on November 29th, 2006, when 10,113 megawatts were used between 5 and 6 p.m.
