Environment Canada has updated their special weather statement for Metro Vancouver, warning that tomorrow is expected to be the hottest day of the week.
The statement says a ridge of high pressure is building along the South Coast and the afternoon highs could reach above 32 degrees inland, and 25 near the water.
However, the pressure will ease off by Friday to allow temperatures dip slightly but it’ll remain hotter than normal until the middle of next week.
Environment Canada is reminding people to be ready to cope with the heat.
- Staying cool by spending time in air-conditioned area, keeping close to shade and always sporting sunscreen
- Drinking plenty of water (even when you don’t feel thirsty!)
- Checking on seniors, those with mental illness or disability, or those who are unable to easily leave un-air conditioned homes
- NEVER leaving children or pets in a hot, parked car
