A Richmond realtor is suing her former agency, claiming she was shut out after refusing to participate in shadow flips.
Morning Yu claims New Coast Realty cut her out, and withheld more than $200,000 in commissions after she refused to play along with an alleged shadow flipping scheme.
Yu claims owner Ze Yu Wu recruited her in 2013, but soon began pressuring her to push clients to accept low offers from “friendly buyers.”
Her suit claims those buyers would then assign the property for a higher price, pulling in a double commission for New Coast.
Ze Yu Wu stepped aside from New Coast in April, after the Real Estate Board and council launched an investigation into allegations of shady practices.
It’s not the first time the firm has faced criticism – this comes after the Globe and Mail published a recording of Wu allegedly coaching realtors in a similar scheme.
None of these claims has been proven in court.
New Coast did not return a request for comment.
