A special prosecutor has been appointed for the Criminal Justice Branch in relation to a matter involving MLA Pat Pimm.
The Peace River-North MLA made headlines this week when he announced he would be leaving the BC Liberal caucus, but didn’t give any reason as to why.
Pimm had also said he would remain in the Legislature as an independent.
The Criminal Justice Branch says Pimm is currently the subject of release documents imposed on him by police under the Criminal Code, following an arrest for an alleged offence.
A special prosecutor is generally appointed for any investigation involving criminal allegations against sitting MLAs.
