A small fire in Tappen, a small town northwest of Salmon Arm, has been put out.
Three people, including an infant, were evacuated from the area.
Their home was destroyed, and emergency assistance has been offered to them.
The B.C. Wildfire Service dispatched six crew members to help fight the fire, alongside 25 firefighters from the Tappen, Shuswap and White Lake departments.
The blaze started at the home west of Herald’s Park at about 9:30 Thursday night, and according to B.C. Wildfire, it spread across the ground for less than half a hectare, and also ignited some trees.
It’s not known what sparked the blaze.
