Freedom of Information documents show Premier Christy Clark’s travel expenses for the first three months this year were just over $60,000.
Those in the know say in a run up to a provincial election, it’s not unusual for the premier’s air travel to be stepped up.
Most of Christy Clark’s travels were day trips and included several members of her staff.
One of the more costly trips was a charter flight from Vancouver to Bella Bella to Campbell River in January.
That tab came in at nearly $8,000. There were a couple of reporters on board and it’s unclear if they paid their own way.
There was also a one day trip to Ottawa in February by Clark and a ministerial assistant, flying business class, for $5,200.
