Burnaby RCMP is investigating whether two separate attacks in Burnaby last night was racially motivated.
The first attack happened around midnight, a man was allegedly assaulted outside an apartment building by a man making racial slurs.
That was on Sardis Street near Patterson.
Shortly after, the second incident, a few blocks away, a woman wearing a hijab was attacked, the man apparently tried to remove her scarf.
Burnaby RCMP says they believe the two incidents are connected and say the investigation is in its early stages.
