B.C. Ferries says two people are expected to be okay after one of its ferries, the Coastal Inspiration, was called to assist in a marine rescue Tuesday morning.
At 6:45, the vessel was asked to assist after a 33-foot-long pleasure craft ran aground off of Valdes Island.
The ferry made it to the scene just as the two people managed to get onto a dinghy.
B.C. Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall says passengers taking the ferry between Tsawwassen and Duke Point will likely experience delays.
